It has been announced that the Muppets will be making a special guest appearance in an upcoming episode of the hit ABC series "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"! The Muppet-filled episode of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" will air on Sunday, January 3, 2010 (8:00-9:00pm ET) on ABC.
On October 2, 2009 the "Extreme Makeover" team went to St. Paul, Minnesota to help fulfill the dreams of Sandy Morris and her family. Sixteen years ago, Sandy left a promising career in the public school to open a daycare to serve the needs of her community. Sandy runs the daycare out of her 100-year-old home, which is now falling apart. The numerous repairs needed to make the home safe threaten to shut down the daycare. Sandy's dedication to her daycare and her community has produced one of the best daycares in the city; even the Mayor of St. Paul sent his son there. Now it's up to Ty and the designers to build the Morris family a safe home that is a sanctuary for their family and will enable the daycare to remain a center of community life and education.
"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" team leader Ty Pennington, designers Ed Sanders, Tracy Hutson and Paul DiMeo, call upon the help of Sam Champion ("Good Morning America"), the Muppets, community volunteers and others to get the job done. Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, Gonzo, Rizzo the Rat and the entire Muppet gang volunteer for "Get on the Bus" campaign and pitch in to help rebuild the Morris family's home.
This is not the first time the Muppets have been on hand to help the design team. Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy and Animal helped the team build the home of the Harris family in 2005, and Kermit filled in for Ty as host during the building the Craft family's house durring a special two-hour episode in 2006. You won't want to miss this very special episode of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." So mark your calendars, set your DVR, or program those VCRs; you won't want to miss this epsidoe of Muppet construction and mayhem on January 3rd on ABC.

Sesame Workshop’s The Electric Company Sparks a Literacy Power Surge With A Brand New Season Premiering January 25, 2010 on PBS KIDS GO!®
Celebrities Recharging The Electric Company Include Dwight Howard, John Leguizamo, Kyle Massey, Chris Massey, LL Cool J, Monique Coleman, Sherri Shepherd and Samantha Bee
American Greetings Joins Beaches Resorts as Sponsors of The Electric Company
New York, NY (December 16th, 2009) – Sesame Workshop, the non-profit educational organization behind Sesame Street¸ is charged up to deliver a second season of the hit show The Electric Company. The series, designed to combat the literacy crisis facing America’s six-to-nine year-olds, will premier a brand new season of 12 exciting half-hour episodes beginning January 25, 2010 and can be seen 5 days a week on PBS KIDS GO! (check local listings).
Season two of The Electric Company begins with a special three-episode recurring role by kid comedian and Cory in the House star, Kyle Massey, playing Keith’s cousin, PJ. Then, following the premiere week, new episodes will air each Friday. This re-invented version of The Electric Company is designed to appeal to today’s kids with fresh animation, music videos, and exciting narrative storylines. Other celebrities turning on the power this season include: NBA superstar Dwight Howard, Emmy Award-winning actor John Leguizamo, The View co-host Sherri Shephard, actor and rapper LL Cool J, actor Chris Massey, High School Musical star Monique Coleman and comedian and The Daily Show correspondent Samantha Bee.
“It is such a thrill to have a season two of a series that, on one hand, was designed to teach today’s tech-savvy kids the incredible power of words, while on the other hand, is such an iconic part of educational television history,” says Karen Fowler, Executive Producer, Sesame Workshop. “By bringing back The Electric Company for a second season, we are continuing to pave the way for kids to make the transition from ‘learning to read’ to ‘reading to learn.’”
With more than one-third of fourth graders across the United States scoring below basic levels in reading[1], The Electric Company aims to tackle this literacy crisis by coupling a strong literacy curriculum with entertaining and engaging stories. Each week, The Electric Company focuses on a specific literacy themed domain and the entire week’s episodes will introduce vocabulary words that fall within this theme. The premier week of The Electric Company will focus on storytelling and includes vocabulary words such as ‘unbelievably,’ ‘character,’ ‘details,’ ‘detective,’ ‘courageous’ and ‘predictable.’
“PBS continues to be committed to guiding children in literacy skill development and The Electric Company is a comical and fun way for kids to strengthen these skills,” said Linda Simensky, VP, Children’s Programming, PBS. “The second season will not only continue to help children who are at-risk but will also be a helping hand for other children as they develop literacy skills and learn about age-appropriate social-emotional life lessons.”
The Electric Company is a multimedia literacy campaign designed to reach out to today’s 6-to-9 year-olds, not only on television, but wherever kids are: in the community, after-school programs and online. To date, over 20,000 curriculum based outreach kits and over 200,000 magazines have been distributed nationwide. In addition, The Electric Company website has had over 8 million site visits and over 21 million videos streamed[2]. The website also recently won the 2009 Best in Class Interactive Media Award.
Season two of The Electric Company is made possible by the generous support of Beaches Resorts and American Greetings. Both Beaches Resorts and American Greetings are longtime sponsors of Sesame Workshop programming and they continue to champion children’s education by sponsoring The Electric Company.
The Electric Company is part of PBS KIDS Raising Readers, a national literacy initiative focused on using public media to improve the reading skills for children ages two-to-eight, with an emphasis on children from low-income families. The effort is funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and a Ready To Learn grant from the U.S. Department of Education, part of a cooperative agreement with CPB and PBS.

Muppets Partner with US Postal Service to Deliver Holiday Cheer
What do the U.S. Postal Service, the Muppets and Santa Claus have in common? Neither rain nor snow nor heat nor gloom of night will keep them from delivering dreams this holiday season.
Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear joined Postmaster General John E. Potter today at the historic James A. Farley Post Office lobby in New York City to kick off the holiday mailing season and the Postal Service's Letters to Santa program.
"The holiday season isn't just the busiest time of the year for the Postal Service -- it's our best time of year," said Potter. "For nearly 100 years, the Postal Service's Letters to Santa program has made dreams come true for those in need. This is a time to celebrate how postal employees, charitable organizations and businesses have made a difference in the lives of children coast to coast."
"We're excited to be helping the Postal Service make the holiday special for kids across the country. It's the perfect way to celebrate," said Kermit the Frog. A postmark of Kermit the Frog will appear in the upper right-hand corner of holiday cards and letters mailed throughout the month of December.
"Helping Santa Claus is always a good idea, especially at this time of year," added Fozzie Bear, who saluted the Postal Service for 234 years of delivering holiday cheer -- and saluted Santa just to be on the safe side.
Letters to Santa is a letter-writing campaign that allows members of the public and charitable organizations to respond to children's letters addressed to Santa Claus, the North Pole and other seasonal characters. New York City's program is the largest in the country with tens of thousands of people adopting letters each year.
"We are delighted to partner with The Walt Disney Company and the Muppets to kick off the holiday mailing season," said Postmaster General Potter. "The Postal Service is gearing up for our annual mail delivery to the North Pole to help Santa and his elves get ready for the big day."

Sesame Street Celebrates a Very Special Thanksgiving
The holiday season is here, and the furry monsters of Sesame Street are gearing up for a musical extravaganza at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
Thanksgiving is upon us, and in New York City, it’s time to celebrate a long-loved tradition: the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The two-and-a-half-mile parade—which was first held in 1924—features massive balloons of well-known characters and culminates with an appearance by St. Nick himself, signaling the beginning of the Christmas season.
Of course, this time-honored tribute to Americana and pop culture wouldn’t be complete without the Sesame Street float, which has enchanted parade-goers and TV audiences since 1974.
The Sesame Street gang, including Bob and Maria, and beloved furry monsters such as Elmo and Big Bird, will once again ride on the float this very special year, which marks the show’s 40th anniversary.
“Sesame Street has become part of the fabric of American culture with its 40th anniversary. And so has this parade,” says Sonia Manzano, who has been playing Maria on the show since 1972. “It’s been the backdrop of so many movies, like Miracle on 34th Street. So it’s a nice little blend of us and the parade.”
Sesame Street’s theme for its float this year is What Makes Music, which corresponds to the spirit of NAMM, the International Music Products Association, which is sponsoring this year’s float. Ten children will play musical instruments on the float—they will play the song “What Makes Music” and segue into the classic Sesame Street anthem “Sing,” which was written by the late Joe Raposo.
“We’re very, very excited about it,” says Sesame Street Creative Director Kevin Clash, who has also been Elmo’s puppeteer since 1983. “We get together and talk about what Sesame Street would like the theme to be. Since we’re celebrating the 40th, we tried to find a song that was celebratory.”
“The gist of ‘What Makes Music’ is that anyone can make music,” says Bob McGrath, who has played the part of Bob Johnson since the show’s very first episode in 1969. “You don’t have to have taken lessons for 10 years to be involved in music. Anything makes music.”
“It’s a wonderful way of celebrating Thanksgiving—it’s a wonderful tradition,” says Clash. “All the Muppets from the show are there. And then, from there, go and eat turkey!”
40 YEARS OF THANKSGIVING MEMORIES
Sesame Street’s involvement in the parade has been different from year to year. One time, Manzano laughs, there was no float—the cast crammed into a little silver car.
“It used to be very casual,” she smiles. “I remember [the late] Northern Calloway, who played David, lived on 83rd Street. The cast used to get up early and meet. But David would just wait until the float went by his apartment and then he’d run up onto the float. This was before security. Also, in the old days, you could get off the float and shake hands. And they used to go crazy. And then we’d get back on the float.”
“Also, we used to just all sing in unison,” she continues. “And then we started having specific lines to sing, which is a little more complicated, of course. The director has to find you on the float so that your mouth is moving when your voice is being heard.”
The float has changed over the years, but one thing that’s remained the same is people’s enthusiasm for and love of Sesame Street.
“Everybody becomes children when this float comes in sight and they start hearing the Sesame Street theme,” says McGrath. “And you see cops laughing and dancing and practically doing spins on the street. They all turn into 5-year-olds, which is great fun to see. It’s a wonderful, wonderful parade. I’ve done a lot of parades over the years and I don’t think anything could top the Macy’s Parade. The enthusiasm of New Yorkers on Thanksgiving is really quite incredible. It doesn’t matter what the weather is, it’s still great fun.”
FAMOUS CHEERS
Celebrities get star-struck, too—and the cast of Sesame Street is no exception. Some cast members’ fondest parade memories are of seeing other celebrities cheer them on.
“A lot of celebrities that are on the different floats will always come to our float to say hi,” Clash says. “They love Sesame Street. It was always wonderful to see Willard Scott drive past in his golf cart and wave at us. A lot of the NBC people we know—like Al Roker and Matt (Lauer)—stop at our float to say hi.”
“I certainly remember Danny DeVito—who is a great fan of Sesame Street—yelling ‘Maria!’ from the window of where he was watching the parade on Fifth Avenue,” says Manzano. “We always look up to see celebrities. We think we saw Catherine Zeta-Jones once!”
“One time we were going by the Dakota—that big apartment building on Central Park West,” McGrath recalls. “There was an apartment on the first floor with gigantic floor-to-ceiling windows. Leonard Bernstein was just standing there in his beautiful silk morning jacket. He started blowing us kisses.”
“We’ve been doing the show for 40 years, and we’re all thankful for that,” McGrath adds. “And, also, the wonderful things that are happening with the international productions in places such as Bangladesh, Kosovo, South Africa—that’s wonderful and I am thankful for that.”
“I’m thankful for Sesame Street for being around for 40 years and hopefully more. That’s what I’m very thankful for,” adds Clash.
And what is Elmo thankful for this year?
“That everybody’s happy. And healthy.”

Follow that Grouch!
Today, Canada's Waste Reduction Week announced Sesame Street's beloved Oscar the Grouch would return for a second year as the program's spokes-Muppet. However Oscar is missing and Waste Reduction Week officials suspect the grouch is secretly learning about waste reduction in Canada.
In the midst of the announcement that Oscar and other Sesame Street Muppets would participate in promoting Wast Reduction Week, a number of unsubstantiated reports began surfacing, claiming that Oscar has actually gone missing. Oscar's Sesame Street neighbours believe he is secretly roaming the Great White North to learn why Canadians are so concerned about trash and reducing waste.
"Sesame Workshop will neither confirm nor deny Oscar's current whereabouts or position on waste reduction, but he was recently seen wearing a hat made from a discarded banana peel," said Risa Greenbaum, Sesame Workshop's Assistant Vice President of International Licensing.
Over the past few days, videos have surfaced claiming that Canadians have seen Oscar in different locations across the country. Although no one has been able to speak directly with Oscar to find out exactly what he is doing in Canada, it appears he has been leaving clues leading many to believe he is on a mission. The Canadians have started a grassroots viral campaign called OscWatch to help raise awareness of Oscar's whereabouts and expand the search. Videos posted on the OscWatch website show Canadians who claim they have seen Oscar to help establish a trail leading to his location.
The Waste Reduction Week program urges Canadians to do their part by reducing, reusing and recycling in every aspect of their lives - at home, school and work. The all-new promotional materal starring Oscar the Grouch, Big Bird, Elmo and othe other Muppets debuted in Canada this week to kick-off the 2009 campaign. Check out www.wrwcanada.com/oscwatch for more information on Waste Redution Week and keep checking back for updates on the whereabouts of Oscar.

Animaniacs Sing-Along: Yakko's World
Animaniacs is the best show with the best music! This is my review of every song: "I'm Cute" is a very cute and funny song thanks to Yakko and Wakko getting bored. "Snitchelbank" is very funny when you are seeing the cartoon, the same thing with "Make a Gookie", a parody of "Fealing Grovy". I like how they combinded 2 cartoons to do "Our first day of School" and "Wakko's America". H.M.S. Yakko has a funny story and the songs get better and better near the end. Can you sing "Yakko's World" without the words? I can! "I'm Mad" is a great song to sing along with my sister Nina. The theame song is great and very energetic. All in all, this is great!

If you only buy one Animaniacs video, this should be the one! (note: the TV version of Animaniacs stew is different). Here's a quick breakdown of the included episodes:In "Slappy Goes Walnuts," Slappy is on a quest to obtain walnuts from Doug the Dog's walnut tree to make some brain food for Skippy. Buttons has his paws full keeping Mindy safe in "Operation: Lollipop." The Warner sibs are magically summoned to Camelot to defeat a dragon in "Sir Yaksalot." "In the Garden of Mindy" finds Brain in Button's place but he still has time to work on his global aspirations. Slappy plays the part of Dot in "Baghdad Cafe" and Brain is nearly replaced when he walks out on a voice-over session in "Yes, Always." This tape is full of classic Animaniacs and is an absolutely faboo must-have. Also included but not listed on the jacket: Mime Time, Dot's Poetry Corner, Randy Beaman's pal (Colin), and "Bumbi's Mom"--another great Slappy/Skippy short. Since no one seems to be broadcasting Animaniacs anymore, it's time to build your own collection. Hopefully they'll be released as a DVD collection soon!
sesame street : Slimey's World Games (Sony Wonder LV 49934) is a 1997 Sony Wonder video release where Slimey competes in the summer Worm Olympics. The video uses material from Episode 3300 (1995).
In Elmocize, Monty visits and takes part in Elmo's Exercise Camp as he learns the benefits of exercise. With Rosita, Slimey, and guest appearance by Cyndi Lauper, they will show Monty that exercising is fun and easy to do.

daphne blake and the wiggles are performs in Sing, Hoot & Howl with the toontown Animals & sing yourself silly at orange park barn and wiggles world!
Rugrats - Phil and Lil Double Trouble : Four more hilarious episodes from the favorite children's cartoon show: "Baby Commercial," "Twins Pique," "The Unfair Pair," and "Together at Last." For ages 6-11.
Animaniacs Sing-Along: Mostly in Toon :Warner Home Video presents this collection of songs from Steven Spielberg's Animaniacs animated children's program. Viewers are invited to sing along with Dot, Yakko, and Wakko as they belt out tunes that cover everything from earth quakes to U.S. presidents. Designed to be educational as well as fun and released in 1996, Animaniacs: Mostly in Toon features playful renditions of "A Quake, a Quake," "Panama Canal," "The Ballad of Magellan," and "The Big Wrap Party."
Animaniacs: Spooky Stuff : WOW! THIS IS FUNNY STUFF!In many way, Steven Spielberg's Animaniacs was ahead of its time of being retro. Make Sense? Well the Animaniacs were really a throw back to the golden age animation of the 1940's. This tape includes all Halloween/horror themed episodes in the usual chaotic style of the Animaniacs. The shorts on this tape include: "Draculee Draculaa" - The Warner Siblings think that they have gone to Pennsylvania to find their parents (pencils) but instead wind up in Transylvania. They decide to stay the night in Dracula's castle. Dracula tries to bite Dot's neck, so they pull his teeth out for Dot to wear in her hair to make her look like Sheena Easton. "Phranken Runt" - Dr. Phrankenstein creates a monster dog, named Scout, to destroy a village, but Scout is struck by lightening which shorts out his brain. She does not have any spare dog brains to replace it. When Runt shows up, she plans to use his brain, but Rita sets Runt and Scout free. "Meatballs or Consequences" - Wakko eats one too many meatballs at a meatball eating contest in Sweden, and is declared living impaired (kaput) by Death (who has a Swedish accent). Yakko and Dot beg to be taken to the nether realm along with their brother, and then play checkers with Death to be allowed to stay with their brother. "Hot, Bothered, and Bedeviled" - The Warner siblings are trying to get to Six Flags Over Flushing, but end up in Hades instead. Satan wants to torture them but proves to be no match for the Warners. Satan kicks them out when Yakko freezes Hades. There's also a Slappy Squirrel and Walter Wolf short that are of lesser quality than the ones I mentioned above. But I've always preferred the Animanicas themselves to some of the other characters. Quite manic and hysterical and good Halloween fun.
Red, Blue and Circles Too: Triangles. Circles. Squares. And all of the colors of the rainbow. Come along as Barney and his friends discover the many colors and shapes that surround us. From sponge paints to hula hoops, there's fun for all. Plus, Barney helps the children realize that everyone is different, yet very special. Baby Bop also pays a visit and joins in on the fun as they children set out to find all sorts of interesting shapes and colors.
Sesame Street in January 2009 , Sesame Street - Learning About Letters : Big Bird and Telly Monster lead young viewers through the alphabet, letter by letter, in a magical and imaginative half-hour discovery of letters and their sounds. The perfect tape for young Sesame Street fans who are just beginning to get the hang of what letters are all about, it includes short skits, songs, and other bits of business--some original, some culled from the Sesame Street show--featuring a variety of Muppet characters as well as the human residents of that famously educational thoroughfare.
bonus videos: do the alphabet, sesame street learning to share & imagine that
Sesame Street - Learning About Numbers : How many ways can you count from 1 to 20? The folks at Sesame Street know them all and run through them several times in this delightful, funny, and educational half-hour video. Big Bird and Count Onetwothree are the hosts of this takeoff on "The Tonight Show," in which Big Bird (as our Johnny Carson stand-in) introduces numbers and the Sesame Street folks act them out. Learning About Numbers is a mixture of original material and skits and songs from Sesame Street. A personal favorite: Kermit the frog as a passenger on an elevator operated by the Count, who keeps passing Kermit's floor because he loves counting the numbers so much.
